rrebellThis is why this forum should do their own storage
Now the former forum that I belonged to that had it liminted the resolution so that is what kept costs down.
rrebell This is why this forum should do their own storage, with the proper limitations on size of files and a few software tweeks this could be real cheap and make this resorse more valuable as it would not depend on outside vendors.

rbturner Rich, I am no expert so this may be a dumb statement but; any chance the photo had a virus attached to it and their anti-virus software whacked your picture?

I cannot say for sure, but I doubt it. These were all photos taken with my own camera and then uploaded to the imgbb website.
Ever since I left Photobucket after its sabotage of user accounts, I have had good luck with imgbb until recently. But, lately, every time that I would upload a new photo, either the photo or the entire "album" would go blank for a day or two, then suddenly reappear.
I have given up on imgbb.com. They don't respond to emails, and my photos remain blank. So, I am closing down my free account (you get what you pay for) and deleting all of my (blank) photos.
Previously, I was a victim of the Photobucket hijack, now imgbb. I wonder how long imgur will last.
A further update to this issue.
I registered with imgur.com just now and successfully posted photos. So, I will have to decide whether to keep imgbb.com. I may keep both sites rather than move pre-existing photos to imgur.com. What a pain!
richhotrain Just to clarify, my photo storage website is imgbb, not imgur. This has happened to me several times lately. The photos in my "albums" just disappear, and blanks show in their place. Then, a day or two later, the photos reappear. No explanation whatsoever from imgbb. Kinda weird. Rich

It's not just you.
Some kind of browser "certificate" expired in the last day or so, that seems to be affecting a lot of Mac users. It's not just browsers, either -- I found that iTunes refused to play a streaming internet radio station for the same reason.
For example, I just checked it now and get: "iTunes can't verify the identity of the server 'play.organlive.com' -- The certificate for this server is invalid".
I would expect a solution to become available within a few days, hopefully.
I'm not sure if this expired certificate issue affects windows users.
On the Mac, you can try using Firefox instead, it seems not to be affected. I understand that Chrome-based browsers, however, are affected.

Rich Sounds like a reason to leave. The only beef I have with Imgur is I can no longer create new albums, at least as far as I can tell.

Most things 'computer' are a mystery to me. I have had times when I post new images to imgur and they will not appear until I log out and back in.
Maybe they are low on 'magic smoke'?
I've experienced the images not showing up. Now I'm not able to reach the site using a Mac laptop. I get a message that says the site can't be reached because a secure connection could not be made.

Like Randy, this happens to me every once in a while also.
I don't do anything, and it will start working again.

rbturner Mine acts up like that from time to time where all I get is the 'zoink' message. I can usually get in by fooling around with the different links in the drop down account menu. Eventually it all works OK again.

I had to run some errands this morning after starting this thread, so I just read your reply, then tried imgbb.com again. After 2 full days, the blank photos were restored once again. So, it must have been your reply that did it.
This has happened to me before, but in the past, the photos were restored the next morning. I use imgbb.com as a free site, and I have never any messages indicating too much used bandwith or any other messages. So, I don't know what the problem could be. Anyhow, thanks again for your reply.
For the past two days, I am unable to see my photos stored on imgbb.com.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
