Will an older Atlas GP9 shell fit on a Life Like GP18?

The Atlas/Kato HO gp7 has the walkway as part of the frame. The protos have plastic walkways that are part of the body. So you would need a walkway with the older atlas shell. The newest Atlas has a plastic walkway.

It's technically a GP9R but they're based on the same frame.

I understand it's not ideal but Walthers is out of parts and I don't have any other options. But I also don't want to waste money on something that won't work.
