Overmod, thanks for your idea but it might not be applicable and too complicated to add the instructions to an already simple tool that's been on the market for a very long time.

If I were to do it, it would be sold as a separate tool to be used with a 205/206 gauge, by removing and replacing the onboard coupler shank.  It would have its own special 'supplementary' instructions; you might want to add a slip with the 205s/206s subsequently shipped that the 'new tool' supplements the gauge's potential usefulness in modeling or troubleshooting.

Overmod, I can't see it solving any major problems that's big enough for us to bother with. I'm really not sure but wouldn't cutting the head off a long shank coupler and putting it into a height gauge more or less do the same as what your idea is?

FRRYKid, I still don't know what your original problem was as your explination was a bit vague and confusing. We all hope that this thread has helpped you somewhat.
