Need some help. I have searched and searched and I cannot locate an article in which Cody built, possibly scratchbuilt, a very large industry for a project layout. I think it was more of a background structure, possibly built at a bit of an angle. Does anyone remember that?
Hi HowieLong,
I don't know about Cody's article but I hope doctorwayne will respond to your thread. He has built several large industrial buildings and they are amazing.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Thanks for your kind comment, Dave.
The only one I have that's on much of an angle is GERN Industries, which was made from a couple of Walthers kits and a bunch of scratchbuilt stuff. It's six and a half feet long, and represents about 1/3 of the entire structure...
Downtown Dunnville has a few large structures...
The station in the background is scratchbuilt, except for the windows, which were leftovers from the P&M Languay factory...
P&M Languay's factory is a combination of two identical Walthers kits, with the long sides all facing the aisleway....
...it decreases in front-to-rear depth at the far end, as I feel that it looks better when it's not parallel to the layout's fascia.
...the leftover parts from Languays were used to build a cut-off portion of the Evell Casket Company, loosely based on its prototype...
Mercury Mills was built using another two Walthers kits, but it's still a great deal smaller than its prototype...
This one uses two Walthers kits for American Hardware, modified somewhat to allow for the covered loading dock...
That pretty-well covers the larger buildings which are on my layout, but there are several more to be added on the partial upper level.

Wayne, in the 8th photo, can you identify the structure with the chimney for me? Is it a kit? Built up structure? Kitbash?

Hello Howie
Quite some time ago, MR did a project for Bay Junction on the in-house MR&T. It was an angled background structure kitbashed from the Walthers Machine Shop kit. The industry was Kelly Appliance. Maybe this is what you were looking for.

Wayne,
your layout and industries look amazing, as always. Thanks for sharing them (to us _all_)!
Great photos of your work. Keeps me working to get better!
