GE 44 Ton Switcher
Posted by Ted Zieger on Sunday, July 4, 2021 9:04 AM

I have a GE 44 Ton Switcher (Rio Grande). I would like to find either a B&O or unlettered body for it. I checked Bachmann's website and they are sold out. Does anyone know where ti find one?

Was the B&O paint scheme actually made by Bachmann? If so, as with most things, eBay and Train Shows are the best bets.

There is currently a ATSF 44 ton shell on eBay, but nothing for the B&O.

I suppose someone here might have one laying about, never hurts to ask.

Or, you could paint and decorate it yourself.

There is an undec.

for the 20$ price. Might be worth getting that one instead of just a shell

I see 5 have sold on Ebay since the beginning of April.

Might just do the patient thing and wait for the next one.

Option 1. Wait to see if any B&O GE 44 Ton Switcher Shells turn up on Ebay, and purchase one or

Option 2. Custom paint an existing GE 44 Ton Shell into B&O Colors

I'd call it a bodged paint job without decals.

I saw that one. I actually like the paint scheme. It is a shame the application was so poorly done.

I didnt see that.  then again I used the phone and I cannt see anything there.  Plus try to keep the data use down on the phone.  I just saw the undecorated in the title and on th ebox. Still doable thoughbecause it was only $20

I have a B&O shell I'd be glad to trade you for the Rio Grande if we can figure out a safe way to exchange info. Dan

I went to the Bachmann website and it show they have two variations of the BM shell available. I have included a link to the 44 ton's parts page.
