kasskabooseFingers crossed that the tool is similar to what Model Railroad Hobbyist's magazine. All of their issues are free and easy to navigate. Just something to consider!

OvermodI think this refers to the Model Railroader back-issue database.
I believe it was for more than just Kalmbach published periodicals. It covered many modeling magazines. I've used it quite often to search for articles even in competitor's magazines.

Glad to see this topic come to the correct subforum.
I think this refers to the Model Railroader back-issue database. This has been a topic in a number of recent threads, which someone can find and post URLs for. Access to the old version was 'broken' as part of the trains.com efforts. I believe access to an older version is still available if you carefully go into the site to find it.
See also the complaints about being unable to search the 'new' version of the magazine archives (available via the $6.99 subscription service now). I expect this will be addressed 'soon' -- but it shouldn't have been broken in the first place...
The NMRA was working on an 'open' database of multiple fan publications. I don't know the current status or level of support for this project now.
I’ve come back from a hiatus away from the hobby. I’ve tried to locate the above database. I found it useful in the past. Did Kalmbach given up the stewardship of the d/b and is another magazine handling it? If so, whom is it?
Thanks.
