To my knowledge ALL Intermountain 89' autoracks have end doors that open.

Sometimes they arrive with a door loose, and you have to get a feel for how they re-install.  It takes a little care to get them back on the tracks, but then they will go and they fit very well.  I move them to closed position, and leave them there, and have never had a problem once I got them properly installed and moved to the closed position.

I handle rolling stock very often--on and off the layout--and once I have the Intermountain doors closed, they remain closed for me.
