Great video. Thanks for sharing and hats off to ScaleTrains for the video and effort for the hobby.
Thanks for sharing! i haven't seen it. It's really intresting
If things get dicey with China (such as the case of Taiwan) we may have to start making things here again (or in frendlier countries) or not have them at all.
I also saw the video and it's amazing how much planning, research, tooling and labor go into our models. I would really like to see them do a video on manufacturing their N scale locomotives because for N scale their detailing is just off the charts! It would be interesting to see how it's done on such a small scale.

I remember them saying they wanted to do the production here, but the products would've ended up costing 2x to 3x more, and then no one would've bought them...

maxman Saw that video. I'm amazed that the locos don't cost a lot more.

I can never understand why we cannot do all of this stuff over here and provide good jobs for American workers. Yeah, I know, I know.

Rapido has shown several videos of model train production in the Chinese factories. There's one HERE, and another one HERE, and one HEREIf you do a search for "Rapido videos of the Chinese factories", there are more to be seen, too.

I generally love ANY "how to" video that involves processes...
[Edit: That was more informative than I expected. And I agree with maxman's comment below about cost.]

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Scale Trains has an interesting 38 minute video on you tube how their trains are made from concept to production in China to delivery in the US. How they ever got the Chinese to allow them to video in the factory is beyond me but very very labor intensive and interesting.
