Hi I was going to order the Atlas catalog and the Athearns catalog but I see the Walthers catalog has these manufactures listed .Dose the manufactures catalog list anything that Walthers does not. I am building my first 4x8 layout Thanks Dan[:D]

Walthers no longer include Athearn or MDC-Roundhouse products since they were bought out by another distributor - Horizon. I haven't seen an Atlas catalog recently, but do recall they were pretty complete and probably have more that Wathers might show.

I would still have a walthers catalog on hand. It has so much good information and such diverse products that it is a great place to get ideas from! Also, you see some really good modeling in it as Bob has demonstrated many times!

It is desireable to have a recent Walthers' catalogue, though the latest is not required. The information in one is about a year out of date when the first copies are sold. The Walthers' catalogue is really a reference book, more than a catalogue. The internet is where you will find the most up to date information. Atlas's website is very good about availability of various items, as is Athearn's.
