Doug, I like the video -- you did a good job with the filming.

I really like your layout, especially your bridges.  You've done a good job with them.

Starting each Friday, this forum has a thread called "Weekend Photo Fun", where we post photos of parts of our layout.  It is a great way to see other modelers' layouts.  I hope you can post some photos there for everyone to enjoy.

Welcome to the forum!

and the fact that most of the plaster scenery on the Granite line is stll unpainted.

Gidday Doug, and here I thought you were modelling winter!!!Whistling

For what it’s worth I thought that the lighting was ok, and the locomotive not only looks good but appears to run well.

Thanks for sharing.

P.S. A narrow gauge 1:1 relation.

OK, Here goes, let's see if this works. I always wanted one of the Little River 2-4-4-2 Powerhouse locomotives that came out years ago. About a year ago I found one on line and bought it. When it arrived it had a few problems (it was probably made close to 30 years ago). It had a bit of a hitch in its get along and I needed to fix that. I added some weight to the tender so it would pick up power better, touched up the paint a bit, and relettered it for my Granite Line. I can talk more about the Granite Line if this video works. Please pardon the terrible lighting, and the fact that most of the plaster scenery on the Granite line is stll unpainted. Projects for the future. Anyway, let's see if I can post this.

I always post my latest monthly layout progress video. All you have to do is click the little filmstrip-looking icon that's next to the photo posting icon in the second row, and enter the appropriate information.

There are two ways to post the video with this icon.

  1. Under the "general" tab, you can paste the URL of the video in the "source" field (just like with a photo), or
  2. Do what I do. Click on the "embed" tab, and then paste the embed code there. This gives you a bit more control about how the video will show, including where in the video the clip will start, among other things. YouTube will generate the embed code for you then just copy and paste it.

Either way works fine.

If you want to post a video from Youtube that is about some topic or something of interest, copy the Youtube video address, then in the toolbar, click on the small video icon, and paste the video address into the box.  You will not see the video displayed until you post the video.

Word of caution:

Kalmbach's rule for the forum is that the forum is for non-commercial use only.  If you are trying to drive traffic to your Youtube site, from which you will make money, don't do it.  It's against the rules, and it's not what this forum is about.

Before the monetization of Youtube videos, this was not a problem.  Now, we have people making quite a bit of money by increasing traffic to their Youtube videos.

Hi there. I can't respond to your question, but this reply will bump your question up on the list.

It is possible, I've seen some posts with videos. Hopefully, someone will respond. Maybe it's time someone put a note on the sticky about photos, and add a paragraph on videos.

Can I post vidoes?

Hello. Pretty new member here. I figured out how to post a photo. How about videos? Can I post them here? If not, can I post a link to one of my You Tube videos?

Thanks
