I thought Vallejo stand is good, i was going to buy it

There are lots of similar stands made by other manufacturers for Vallejo bottles that are very sturdy.

Finally, here is my new setup. I use a varnish stand for my paint bottles and a brush holder. I really love those two pieces of equipment.

That looks very neat and organized.

It looks like you own about 10 times as many paint brushes as I do.

-Kevin

Most of the paintbrushes were given to me from people who don't do oil painting anymore. I just bought a few.

How do you organize your paint bottles?

I don't. There is nothing like the challenge of 100 or so bottles of paint all thrown together in a cutdown cardboard box. Laugh

This discussion started with Vallejo 17ml bottles of paint, which I keep very organized.

My other paints, not so much, just in a drawer.

Organization? What's that? They're usually sitting where I last used them, and when I need them again I search the room for them.

Probably not the best system...

Nice video Terry.

I was amazed at how little mess the drill bit made.

-Kevin

Yeah, me too! But the shop vac helped a lot. Glad you liked the video.

I'm not a collector of paint, and alot of what I use, I transfer from spray cans to air brush bottles.

Here's the way I use to store my paint:

And here:

But I changed all of that, built a different bench, because the other 2 got to crowded, and I now store my paint like this:

I know, I know, I'm just a "neat freak", to the point of being annoying!   Whistling

Being a "non-union" shop, my paints are NOT organized.

"How do you organize your paint bottles?".

I told 'em to line-up, single file and spaced 6' (HO) apart, wearing masks, but they apparently ignored me.
I generally know roughly where the paint I want to use is located, but I don't really have all that much, maybe just over a couple hundred bottles...many of them multiples of the same colours, and many custom-mixed for specific end uses.

I bought a Vallejo paint stand but I threw it in the garbage because it was cheap and not sturdy.

I had a different experience. I thought the Vallejo rack(s) was (are) pretty decent.

Then there's this if you like portability:

The holes are the same size as the Vallejo bottles.

Good Luck, Ed

Kevin, that's a nifty setup.

You can take a 2" x 10"  or a 2" x 6" and drill holes in it to hold the paint. You can then lift the whole board to the desk or elsewhere when it comes time to paint. Do not drill right through the board or the bottles will fall out when you lift the board.Smile, Wink & Grin

I have a shelving unit I made just for paints. It is a box that has shelves just a little wider than the paints I have  and a simple adjstiable shelves so that as things change the shelves can change.

How do you organize your paint bottles? Do you have pictures, links of a product you bought or something you built?

If you are looking for a desk-top stand, head to the Dollar Tree. They sell clear acrylic lipstick stands for $1.00 that hold twelve bottles of Vallejo paint perfectly. I used these in my "dorm room" in Tampa, and they were perfect.

You want the one with 12 lipstick compartments and a tray on top. They sell a simlar one with 16 lipstick compartments, but the sizes are slightly smaller, and the Vallejo bottles do not fit quite right.

In my home workshop I use a Kobalt tool cab where I have outfitted one drawer to store my Vallejo paints. I cut short sections of 1" schedule 40 PVC to hold the bottles. This works excellent.

This is a Standard 26 inch wide roll cab, and the drawer will hold over 200 bottles of paint.

How do you organize your paint bottles?
Posted by ModelTrain on Sunday, March 28, 2021 10:09 AM

Hi.

I have now 40 bottles of 17ml of Vallejo paint and I am searching for a rack or something to organize them. A few weeks ago, I bought a Vallejo paint stand but I threw it in the garbage because it was cheap and not sturdy.

How do you organize your paint bottles? Do you have pictures, links of a product you bought or something you built?

Thanks for your help!
