I went to the GATS show in Kansas City

I didn't like how the aisles were all tight, when they had alot of room left in the building. I did like the train layouts and I wished they would have ran the SD-90MACs on the coal train set up on one of the layouts on Sunday. I think it was a great show. I was just wondering why didn't they sell much of Bachmann EZ track.

I went to the KC GATS on Saturday, and was sort of disappointed. It was about 1/3rd the size of the last GATS held here, and a lot of it was "toys" (non-railroad). I felt $12.00 was pretty "steep" ($6.00 for parking, and $6.00 for admission) for what you got in return, and all the prices were HIGH !!! Oh, well... the NMRA Regional show is in June.

I had half a mind to attend (as they say), but Saturday was our 39th anniversary. In addition to that earlier in the day we help some people move some furniture across town. When you have a pickup everybody thinks you have time and the inclination to do stuff like that! Sounds like I didn't miss as much as I might have.

It is all a matter of what you expect. I had been to KC's GATS several times, but not for about 5 years. I went expecting to see the same old layouts, but most of them were different from the ones I had seen there before. It wasn't very big, but GATS rarely is because it happens so often (twice a year in KC). Overall I enjoyed what I saw. As to prices, they were about what they usually are at shows. Prices are all dictated by the indiviudal shop owners, not GATS, anyway.

Fredonia, you can blame the club that I used to be in for the Topeka show no longer being held. The last time the show was held, the club made a profit but, chose to no longer hold the show. Too sad. I left the club due to backwards attitudes. I didn't spend much at the KC Gats as I purchased a DT300 throttle from Docs
