How do I find out what decoder to use on my diesel locos?

I have a
Athearn GP-38-2 2003
Bachmann B23

I would like any input on a site where I could figure the stuff on how to install it and how and where to buy it?

I have an Bachamann EZ Command and I would like to get it running.

[#welcome] to the forum, Probably the best two places on the web is.Tonys Train Exchange or .Loys Toys . Also Lenz ,Digitraxx,and NCE and TCI all have web sites that may help you find the decoder that you are looking for.Although there are many other sites that offer information, Loys and Tonys are usually where I find information conserning DCC issues.Good Luck Terry

You can also e-mail both Athearn or Bachmann directly and ask them their decodeer recommendation for the above-mentioned models. Some decoders fit better inside of the shell than others.

Tony's Train Exchange at http://www.tonystrains.com has a chart indicating what decoders will fit into different models. If you don't see your models listed in their chart, just give them a call and they can tell you what to use.
