For many different brands I have just bought 1mm o-rings from eBay. Measure the wheel then subtract a couple millimeters for the the tire to stretch on.
For example an old Tyco diesel took a 1mm x 9mm.
For tires to fit a wheel with a flat bottom groove I use vinyl-elastic ladies hair bands. A good place to find these is at a beauty supply house like 'Sally's'.
When I had trouble with mine. I went to lovetrainhobbies.com they help me out when I order the wrong one.

Yep, ''Bullfrog Snot'' it is.
Often times you can contact the manufacturer and get the parts you need or information on the size, or measurements of the the traction tires you need.
When the tires are not available or I'm not sure if the 'universal' tires will fit properly, I use Frog Snot to make or mold them in place. I've had good luck with this stuff and it is easy to use. You can make many traction tires with on ebottle.
I thinks Frog Snot is a viable option.

I've only used them once - I think it was a Calumet one. Anyway, yes, they do stretch, so as long as the wheel is larger, it should be fine.

Hello everyone.
I have several older locomotives that need new traction tires. The problem is a lot of the tires I see (steward or calumet) only say trains it'll fit and not actual mm or inches. Does anyone have Intel on this?
I need tires that are about 12, 20, 25mm. They're all about 0.25mm bigger than the a over measurements, but I'm assuming they stretch a little.
Help me out please. Some are just dry rotted and others are gone completely.
