I was looking through Hal Carsten's "150 Of Model Trains" and saw a photo of something very similar to yours.

What you've got may be a Pacific Fast Mail Japanese import.

Looks like a model of New York Central's #999 from 1893.

Definately post your pictures on the "Model Railroader" Forum.  There were quite a few HO model makers years back so yours could be from any of them.

It looks like a brass model of the Casey Jones engine. Many brass models were imported from Japan.

Hi,

I suggest you post this over on the Model Railroader forum where the HO experts are!

Is it brass by any chance?  There are a few brass experts who could help.

Help Identifying this HO Model Train, Please

Good Evening!

I have recently obtained the below model steam locomotive and would love to find out more about it.  Who made it?  What type of locomotive is it?  When it was made?  Etc.

The bottom is simply marked Japan and it appears to have age to it.  I am a novice when it comes to model trains and would greatly appreciate any information.  Thank you!
