Who would make a run of custom cars ? I would like to have about 50 - 100 special run hoppers. Private Road name! Has any one done this before.

Your best bet is to buy unmarked or data only cars from someone like Accurail, then putting on your own decals. I've started to do this and it has orked out nicely for me.

the club I was a member of had a runmade by accurail you have to order at least 100 units and if you supply rough art work the cost was about $10 a car mind you that was 4 years ago so check with them for prices andwhat they need from you. Ours came painted with the logos attached we just had to number them they did supply the numbers. TB

One of the LHS here in Pensacola had some plug door box cars made to commemorate their
50th anniversary. I don't know how many they ordered or who made them, but they are Athearn
BB cars. Email me, if you don't find someone to do the work for you, and I will ask them the next
time I'm in there. Dave

Athearn will do special runs

I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.

I don't have a leg to stand on.

Bowser also does special runs and I like their cars a lot better the Athearns.

Bowser will also do other brands of cars such as Atheran, Roundhouse, and Stewart.

Call them at 1(800)327-5126 or e-mail. bowser@bowser-trains,com. The webb page for their custom work is:

I think Bev-Bel does special runs using Athearn, MDC, or Accurail undecorated stock, too. Nearly all Bev-Bel products advertised in Railroad Model Craftsman magazine are custom decorated Athearn.

Accurail's website has a section on custom-decorated cars. 48 car batched (a standard case). Email them for a job quote.

Charlie does special runs of custom paint on Athearn (and maybe other)cars.
Contact info is on the website I believe. They are located in Grandview (suburban Kansas City) Missouri.
