An acquaintance sent me a link to it, but I'm undecided, partly because I can't view the requirements for entering (I don't belong to the NMRA), and partly because I'm about to start a project to build 17 head-end baggage/express/mail cars for myself and a couple of friends.  It might be a suitable project for that venue, but I doubt that I could finish it in whatever time is alloted, as I'm a slow worker, partly due to the research needed, and for gathering the parts that will be needed, which were ordered a couple days ago.

I'll not likely participate, as competition is a concept foreign to me...I'd rather simply enjoy doing the work and have the satisfaction of fulfilling my friends' requests, regardless of how long it takes.

All the info is on the Walthers web site.

I was thinking about it, but, you have to build a diorama, they give you different sizes.  It's like building part of modular layout.

If this was for an individual modeling project, such as a locomotive, or frieght car, or a structure, I would consider.
