Bachmann parts diagram describe the screw as part# N51507. Doesn't give any more info.
I wouldn't think the extra 1/8" would make a difference, it would just go up into the frame farther.
Good luck.

I determined on the internet that this screw is a 2-56, about 1/4 in long. I had a hard time finding this screw but Home Depot had them but 3/8 in long. It is for a Bachmann N 0-6-0 tender truck screw.

When I looked up the part number the OP gives, on Bachmann's site the screw is for HO scale, attaches the pilot to the locomotive.
Check the link I gave in my first reply.
Maybe he has the part number wrong?
I don't know if it applies to all Bachmann tenders, but the USRA-style ones used behind their Consolidations, Mountains and others, are .070" in diameter which is equal to 2mm.
EDIT: DOH! I missed the reference to N scale, so my suggestion may be incorrect. as the one I measured was on an HO scale tender.

This must be the screw:

It doesn't give a size, that I can see. It looks like they are in stock, maybe give Bachmann a call and/or order a couple.
If it was me, I'd probably take it to the local hardware store, and see if I could find one that fits. My local store has a great selection of Hillman screws and fastners.
I'm sure it's a metric size.
I need a screw for one of my tender trucks. Bachmann 10297. What is the screw size?
Thanks,
