Whatever happened to Sunshine Kits? Was hoping to order a kit if they're still around. I know from previous discussions a while ago here that they never had a website, but when I search them I end up at the website for Resin Car Works. Did RCW absorb Sunshine Kits? Did Sunshine go out of business? What was their fate?
Thank you for your interest in Resin Car Works. I have been a prototype modeler for many years, producing patterns for kits that were marketed by my friend the late Martin Lofton of Sunshine Models. Several freight car projects were started with Martin but regrettably not finished due to his passing. Friends began to ask me what I was going to do with all the unfinished patterns. Resin Car Works is the result.
I tried to sell my two cents worth, but no one would give me a plug nickel for it.
I don't have a leg to stand on.
Sunshine models are great, I have three of them unbuilt, and have built two.
I had to buy them all on a secondary market. Sunshine models refused to sell to me directly. There is a story behind that, but I do not want to repeat it since it was over 25 years ago.
There are two Sunshine models on my "must buy" list, and I check ebay for them regularly.
I think Sunshine has been gone for about 20 years.

Living the dream.
You can buy right through the site. Prices are the same as other high detail cars. Those kits look really well done too.
