The photo purge from my Imgur account has begun.

Hopefully I will be completely done by New Years Day.

Hold on there, Cowboy from Cheyene. I am confused. So, clarify if you can.

Are you claiming that Clara Clifford (nee Clara Clampett) was Cliff Claven's cousin who married Clark Clifford (JFK's postmaster) of the Chattanooga Cliffords and moved to Cucamonga in the early seventies? Contrary to your contention, the cleaning woman named Clara Clifford (nee Clemmons), the one who discovered that Tom's clean copper clappers, kept in a closet, were copped by Claude Cooper, a kleptomaniac from Cleveland, was actually the daughter of Clem Clemmons.

Correct, that would be Clara Clemmons Cooper the same Clara Clemmons Cooper who lives in Culver City, Cailfornia, near the coast. Ironically, while catamaraning off Catalina Island, Clara collapsed, only to be revived to consciousness by none other than Curtis Contraband, a convicted cat thief who had stolen Cliff Claven's invaluable collection of Chinese Ceramics while prowling around Chinatown.

What a curiously clever convergence of complex conclusions over who converted Tom's clean copper clappers (kept in a closet) for cash.

So, let me see if I have this straight, Tom. You're telling Mike that a cleaning woman named Clara Clifford discovered your clean copper clappers, kept in a closet, were copped by Claude Cooper, a kleptomaniac from Cleveland?  One more question. Is Clara Cooper the same Clara Cooper who lives in Culver City, Cailfornia, near the coast?

Rich

No . . . Clara Clifford (nee Clara Clampett) was Cliff Claven's cousin who married Clark Clifford (JFK's postmaster) of the Chattanooga Cliffords and moved to Cucamonga in the early seventies. Their kids all dropped out of college due to peer pressure and repeated ridicule.

Rich,

I'm happy to say it will happen either happily or unhappily; contingent upon whatever happens to be one's viewpoint on the happening.

And, by now, maybe Mike likens this dialogue as listening to politicians politely discussing political policy on policing politics...

I happen to think that it might happen, could happen, almost certainly will happen, but what happens if it doesn't happen? Huh, what happens then?

If it does happen...it'll be happenstance.  At least that's my stance on the topic. Wink

I wonder if the new forum will be backwards compatible with the prior methods of posting pictures or even the older threads?

The new forum.  How long have we been hearing rumors of this "new forum"?

I think it's been over a year now, and counting.

Beginning to sound like a politicians promise.

Mike.

Yep, it happens when it happens...whenever that happens.

I happen to think that it won't happen.

Kevin) if i remember correctly... electronic storage and all this data tech were supposed to make things like this easy! Or so i was told. LaughLaugh

I see that Dr. Wayne has threatened to pull up stakes over the image hosting issue.

This would be a tremendous loss. Everytime i look at one of Doc Waynes photos i see 10 stories on how-to! I see the idea, the blood sweat and tears, and the finished product. I see it all, and feel very inspired when i view those, and others who seem to have mastered the hobby who post here.

We need these inputs. If not, how would newbies or lesser experienced modellers learn? The hobby would stagnate. This would be tantemount to loosing someone the likes of Tony Koester, or Allen M..

dknelson

That would be a great loss.

The understatement of 2020!

Regards,

We appreciate your "image rich" postings Kevin.  Fortunately you remain an active participant in the Forums so if there is an image someone wants to see you can re-post it on request.  What is really sad to me are the many excellent tutorials by persons no longer members of the forums (deceased in some cases) and their images are now gone, and their tutorial postings not so useful.  I guess I understand why Kalmbach does not want to get into the image hosting business (since folks ARE rather fond of posting copyright-violating images, particularly in the Trains magazine part of the forums, and better to let the posting person and image host deal with those issues if any).   Still I wish there was a better way.  I see that Dr. Wayne has threatened to pull up stakes over the image hosting issue.  That would be a great loss.

Resetting all the photographs for 2021
Posted by SeeYou190 on Thursday, December 24, 2020 9:33 AM

Since I started here almost four years ago, I have posted over 3,000 different photographs. This has resulted in my Imgur account being a mess that is impossible to navigate.

In the last week of 2020, I am going to delete all of my Imgur images except for the Cardboard Layout, Paint Booth, Coast-To-Coast Hobby Shopping, Athearn Assembly, and Layout Segment images.

This will result in this being seen in a lot of my old posts:

I will try to fix older threads if they "pop-to-the-top", but I doubt it will me much of an issue.

Another side effect of this reset will be that I will be recycling my images that I use for the "Show Me Something" thread. I have over 400 on my 30 by 30 diorama, 200 on my layout test segment, and over 2,000 from train shows. The repitition should be minimal.

It looks like this is a housekeeping chore that I will need to do every 3-4 years.
