My mom and sister both have cricuts with the high pressure blades. Don't waste your money.

It might be interesting to see if the Silhouette Cameo can be programmed to use the high-pressure punch blade to mark corners and other 'waste' openings in thin wood, to simplify subsequent cutting without trying to turn the cutting blade in a sharp curve or corner.
I don't think any Cricut but a Maker has the capability to work cleanly with wood for modeling.
The Brother is, I think, still the only machine with integrated scanning registered to the blade mechanism. I'd think the 4kg pressure in the ScanNCut2 ought to be enough for work in thin fine-grain wood, but I don't know about blade life or quality of cut.
Joann Fabrics had a demo Circuit and I took a drawing of a wall with windows and a piece of 1/32” thick basswood to try and it took four passes using the deep cut blade to cut out the windows. Very disappointing after watching several YouTube videos. That didn’t sell me on it. johnbalich I want to cut 1/32" basswood and 1/16 basswood.
For 1/16" basswood I think you will need a laser cutter. That is asking an awful lot from a Cricut, which is doubtful for even 1/32" basswood.
My daughter has a Cricut, and it cuts vinyl stickers fine, but struggles with even posterboard.
Maybe newer models are better.
