Mike, Really neat collection, love the wooden pieces, thanks, Peter
Most of mine I bought. The two wooden trains are hand-me-downs that my Mom had ever since I was a kid.

Notice we even have the train from the Rudolph cartoon with the caboose with square wheels.

I don't ever recall buying a train ornament. I suspect most were gifts from someone who gifted one as the best idea they had when buying for a train nut. That's OK, I like them. Mostly Hallmark, as you'll see, but my favorite is this one.
Hallmark Lionel steamer and caboose.
Also have another steamer looks a lot like Ed's.
The next may be a "Polar Express" item?
The indoor tree is only 4' tall, so can't get too carried away. The one in the yard is a little bigger...
It just occured to me that it would be pretty cool to run some of my large scale stuff around under the tree. But probably have to put up a fence to do that. Got enough trouble getting the star up there, as the blue spruce is thriving and growing each year. If I fall and hurt myself so I can't get to the trains in the basement, that wouldn't be good. Keep safety in mind when decorating, whatever you decorate with!

I have one entire tree (small, often a Charlie Brown sort of tree) that I dedicate to railroad themed Christmas ornaments.
I have many, but not a complete set, of the Hallmark "Lionel" ornaments. Some of them are really exquisite little models, of indeterminate but consistent scale, close to N. Some are just lovable approximations, much like Lionel itself
There are also many "lantern" ornaments not perhaps specifically railroad, but close enough. And some cariacature locomotive ornaments in wood, glass, and copper.
My sister has given my a number of beautiful Polish glass ornaments (some of the prettiest ornaments are Polish hand made glass) including a locomotive, a train station, and a boy holding a toy train.
I do that tree all in red lights (I have considered red, yellow and green lights but we need the yellow and green strings for the "big" tree) and one string is all lanterns, red, again vaguely railroady looking.
In years past this week or next my closest railfan buddies (and one wife, the rest are crusty old bachelors) would come to our house for a dinner of big New York strip steaks on the grill, big baked potatoes and butter, two big loads of texas toast, ice cream and chocolate sauce, and then several hours of sharing favorite railroad slides and digital images, breaking up about midnight. The train tree was in the dining room so all could enjoy it. One of the nicest traditions you can imagine that even my wife looked forward to. Not this year. Not this year.

Not train related, and not a tree ornament, but I do not have my tree up this year and I stumbled across this picture.
My favorite Christmas decoration is this "Leg Lamp" night light.
This is a very old picture, taken in my kitchen before it was remodeled.

Living the dream.
My wife made this one many years ago. Happy safe Holiday season, Peter

BATMAN It is that time again, show us your train related ornaments.
It is that time again, show us your train related ornaments.
That would be one of my favorites Batman, The Hallmark Chessie system limited edition.
I tied her to the track with piano wire so at least the tender could be with the locomotive every year.
They were sold separately you know

Sorry, no tree this year in my house...
Please let me get into the Christmas Train spirit through lots of contributions to this thread.
With our house in such a mess this year, not much is coming out. But I did get the tree decorated today.
