Brekina Vehicle Question
Posted by FRRYKid on Monday, November 16, 2020 5:25 PM

Got yet another question for the group. I purchased a Brekina Jeep universal vehicle. In that kit, there is a part that looks like a headlight on each end with a set of mounting pegs in the middle back and something that reminds me of the center of the mount for deer horns. Any assistance as to what this is and where it goes would be most appreciated.

A photo would help, but it sounds like either plow lights or an add on that many folks put on their Jeep type vehicles..

Good luck,

Could it be a couple of auxiliary headlights with a simulated winch drum?

I looked at a wide range of Brekina jeeps and didn't see a piece like the one described...

Brekena jeeps I see are on ebay are Jeep Wagoneers and pickup trucks from the 60's I would guess that the mount for deer horns would be a mount for a winch.

The winch idea is very possible. If it helps, the product number for the Jeep is 58905.

I wonder what came with your Jeep universal that did not come with mine? To be clear, are you talking about one piece or two pieces?

1) Headlight on each end with a set of mounting pegs in the middle back

and

2) something that reminds me of the center of the mount for deer horns.

Does your Jp have the drivers front fender light mounted?

With the Brekina Wagoneers and the Gladiators on my bi-level open auto racks looking sooo awesome, I could not wait for the Universal to come out. Boy was I sooo disapointed.

It is one piece. Yes it does have a light mounted on the driver's side.

They are 'off road lights'. The 'deer horn' part in between the lights is sprue scrap.

My next post I will tell you where they go.

Here is were the 'off road lights' are intended to go.

Low on the side edge of the clear windshield you will see a hole, that is where the post of the light goes. One light on each side.

The hole in the body just below the one in the windshield side edge is not the one intended to be used. That hole is the windshield hinge/post that does not move to allow the windshield to lay down.

I'm not yelling just want to be clear.Laugh

Not all of my Brekina jp universals came with the 'offroad light option' or maybe the packer just forgot to include them. But there are the holes for them in the 'glass'.

Oh, this vehicle is basically a 'M38A1'.

While reading this thread I got a bottom-screen pop-up advertisement for off road lights for my jeep.
