Doesn't look good. Between most new locos already commign with some sort of directional constant lighting if DC models, and DCC not needing such devices, they are next to impossible to find. Miniatronics lists the non-directional one out of stock as well now. Some sites list one from Utah Pacific but I suspect that hasn;t been made in YEARS, those are some of those "giant" online hobby shops which pretty much never stock anythign and just display the Walthers catalog. Plus those were kits, you had to solder the diodes to the PCB yourself. I doubt Tomar continued to make them after acquiring Utah Pacific, and now it's been 4 years or so since that was sold off to yet another company. Dallee has two different sizes of LEDs, but those too are 'kits', just the parts you solder together yourself - and you could probably buy enough components for 4 locos for what Dallee charges.

I'm afraid it's going to be DIY unless you can find some on eBay. Or buried in the unsold stock of some hobby shop - I wouldn't doubt the one not far from me would have one or two hanging around on their Miniatronics display.

HO scale constant voltage directional lighting
Posted by Medina1128 on Sunday, November 1, 2020 11:16 AM

I'm trying to locate an HO scale constant voltage directional lighting circuit. I've tried the manufacturer that I used to get them from, Miniatronics. But, the only one they have now is for forward only. The directional circuit for forward/reverse has been out of stock for over a year. Does anyone have any ideas on where to get one? I used to make my own, but age, shaky hands, etc have put the kibosh on that. I've Googled it many times, but to no avail.
