I actually recorded this video months ago, but wanted to finish the Arbour Models kit before putting it up.
I got one of Fleischmann's German E44 electrics from the original 1952 production, and thought I'd make a video showing how to get these things repaired and tuned up. It's my first time working on one of these, and they had some intersting ideas on how to put them together back then!

Heh - the sound of that motor reminds me of my old Norelco (floating heads) electric shaver.
One good reason to video yourself taking it apart, aside from entertaining us viewers, is that now you will always know how to put it back together. It is rare for me to finish a project like this at a single sitting and often I find by the time I return to it, I no longer have a reliable recollection of what goes where and how. Assuming I can still find the screws that is!
Someone offered me a Fleischmann Baldwin switcher painted in C&NW knowing that was my prototype but upon seeing the huge flanges and the not very American looking trucks that they put under the model, I passed.
