I was just looking at the cover of the August MR this morning. Look at the loco: to the right is a boxcar at a loading platform.
Is it just me, or is there a guy, sorta fuzzy, in blue jeans and a red shirt, wailing on a trumpet?
Either that, or he's charming a snake out of the basket in front of him.

I agree, going off of Kevin's picture, that he's jammin' away, or maybe pleading with the boss to let him ride the train.

Working class folks didn't go to dentists for tooth extraction back then. He clearly is removing an infected molar with a Foster wrench. I guess the string on a door knob method didn't work for him -- I can testify that it works on baby teeth.
