I agree 100%, there's big rig wheels and tires all over the place but very, very few automobile tires especially with white walls. With all this 3D capability out there I think somebody could make some money selling Wheel and tire sets for different makes and models of vehicles as most Vehicles don't come with wheels that look like the factory OEM

Yeah, I always wondered where they came up with HO Slot Cars as they aren't even close to HO scale. Oddly enough, I've never seen HO slot car items, such as the grade crossing track sections you can get for HO trains, marketed toward S scale modelers. They would be a much more realistic fit.
As I have a paved oval racetrack scene on my layout, I am also looking for more automobile sized wheels and tires to scratchbuild more sprint cars. There seems to be a plethora of truck wheels and tires available but only Busch seems to offer automobile tires. $9 for a car and a half (only three axles per Busch kit) seems pretty steep to me, though. As it was, the wheels and tires I used to build the first four sprint cars came from complete vehicles that did not fit my transition era layout. I keep looking for bargain prices for HO scale vehicles but no joy in a long time! There is a decent looking set of 50 modern vehicles available on-line for around $20. I guess that would be a better wheel and tire source than buying a couple of the Busch sets (did I just give myself a reason to buy a set?). Still waiting for a similar bargain set of the transition era vehicles I need (lots of luck).

hornblowerDave HO Slot Cars are not HO Scale (they are closer to S Scale) so wheels and tires made for HO Slot Cars would not fit HO Scale vehicles.
Oh, I didn't know that. Too bad.
Thanks for the correction.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!

Hi Santa Fe,
Check out these guys. I didn't search for whitewall tires:

These may not be what you want, but it's what I found right now. Walthers catalogs the years 2000 and 2010. You said a few years back, maybe I'm to far back. I'll look in some more catalogs.
Busch #189-49951. The ''189'' # should be Walthers's number for the manufacture. So just use google Busch #49951 to see them.
6 auto. tires with white walls. I think the white walls look like the same width.
6 wheels
3 axles
Try a Google search 1:87 wheels and tires.Mel My Model Railroad http://melvineperry.blogspot.com/ Bakersfield, California I'm beginning to realize that aging is not for wimps.
Few years back can purchase some packages of HO scale automobile wheels and tires. The tires had various thicknesses of white walls on them. They also came with axles. For the life of me I can't remember what the brand was of these wheels and tires. Can somebody remember who made these? Thank you
