Medina1128 I guess I'm going to have to find an inexpensive blender to put into service in the train room, er, basement. I don't think using the kitchen one is a good idea. I'm not young, anymore. I used to clean car parts in the dishwasher It worked great, but it sure didn't make the little lady happy.

BigDaddyWarning Ken shapes his extruded foam with a chain saw.
That seems like a terrible idea. That would get bar oil all over everything, and I am sure that would attack the foam.

It's all star stuff. If it is vegatables or leaves, what's the diff?

I seem to remember Ken Patterson did a video on leaves, adding water to the leaves in the blender.

Marion,
I bought a flea market/yard sale blender for hobby use. It got "borrowed" by the kitchen operator. Not sure if I can get it back or not when I need it.
Have fun,

I have collected lots of different leaves in the past and let them get brittle dry and then it was into the blender. It made beautiful ground cover.
I have used Heki leaf flakes in the past.
They look good in real life, but I was not impressed with how they looked in photographs.
In response to he who asked where to get tree flakes (ho scale leaves?) and the answer give by MR...
The LION has his own prescription...
1) Go out of the back door and take a few leaves off of the nearest tree.
2) Bake them in an oven at about 200 degrees until dry.
3) Put them in the food processor and spin them down until they are about the size you want.
4) If colored leaves you want wait another week or two before collecting them.
--> Disclaimer: I have never tried this, but LIONS like to try their own ideas first. After all the cat litter ballast worked out just fine.
