Is this Kalmbach's "just-in-case-the-end-is-nigh" plan, where the October issue of MR is available in August? They could probably save ink by simply deleting the cover dates, and those on every page, too.

 

In the magazine world the issue comes out one month before the cover date. That makes it current on the news stand for two months. For three months actually, they would not remove the october issue until the middle of December.

They explained it one time, but go ahead and look at ANY magazine at say Barnes and Noble... You will see the same thing.

 

BTW: Why is a bankrupt farmer like a bookseller?

When I saw the cover photo without reading the cover, I immediately thought "yes! a visit to Jason Shron's layout!" but then I read the caption... Crying still a cool photo though.
