Went with a Kadee O scale coupler.Small compared to O gauge but they mesh.Might install the other Kadee on this Atlas O scale IC boxcar..
Draw bar installed.
I used Superglue and JB Weld in its construction...seems solid barring any major accidents!
Well, in that case I am really glad I did not win the auction!
Being O scale would have been an interesting surprise.

Living the dream.
Yes the Dreyfuss is on an older MTH chassis so it is !
Is that on Lionel track, is the model O scale?
Thanks!first coat of light gray over primer... []
Really coming along nicely.
Please feel invited to also share updates in Weekend Photo Fun whenever you like.
I fitted a piece of textured plastic to simulate a coal load.It is removable.
One advantage of the abnormally thick tender floor is the ease in which the ladder was assembled...just put it in the vise!

Thanks#!
Looking good.
I am glad I did not buy that one, it would not fit in with the rest of my fleet.
All is well that ends well. Please keep the updates coming.
Nice build.
Starting to look like a tender...the brass panel will slide back and off should truck service/replacement become necessary.
Easily changed out once I find a good set!
I think about the last tender to use that general style of truck was the ATSF whaleback type used on some of the hinged Mallets -- see the 2-10-10-2s. And these would NOT have fabricated frames with separate pedestals or those relatively lacy equalizers!
NYC practice anywhere in this era would have been their more-or-less standard Commonwealth tender trucks, and I doubt you will have trouble finding a good set either via the Bay or from someone helpful in this community...
Made two truck bolsters out of brass tubing with a plastic insert.
Mounted up the trucks.
I was watching that with a keen interest, but I decided not to bid on it. Glad I did not get into a bidding contest with a fellow forum member.
Yes sir!Perfect to go with the Dreyfuss!
Is that the one that was sold by "dogwood10" on eBay that ended on the 23rd?
Foubd this on the Bay to go with the Dreyfuss! The tender floor is a solid brass billet 1/8"thick!No instructions so I will have to figure out how to assemble it!
