Being a flywheel MTH chassis it runs smoothly and powerfully even goes around O-31 curves !

That is cool but the Rexall boiler reminds me of an NYC Mercury!
Sure beats the 'uninspired bathtub shape' of the original... and the train contained many examples of fine model-railroad-worthy construction so you could have some fun with T-scale modeling... see some of the original train details and story here:

Note that you could always adapt the 4-6-6 wheel arrangement as seen on the publicity pins...

A or helps get that across.

Light Gray!
Sorry about that; there are too many things recently posted with that sort of claim which weren't meant as jokes.
It's gray on my screens.
Sure looks like it pullman but it is missing the front New York Central curved shield
Hard to tell from your photo — could it be from an old Max Gray Hudson?

BEAUSABRESure that's not the Santa Fe's "Blue Goose" https://locomotive.fandom.com/wiki/ATSF_No._3460
Very few design details are common between those two locomotives, other than that they are both shrouded and share a gauge and a wheel arrangement.
Sure that's not the Santa Fe's "Blue Goose" https://locomotive.fandom.com/wiki/ATSF_No._3460
Primer applied!
Fabricated from heavy brass stock no markings that I could discover.
The Williams, Weaver, Lionel and MTH Dreyfuss Hudsons were scale (or very close to scale) models yet marketed to the third rail set (although Lionel might have had a rail version) so they are appropriately discussed here or in the Classic Toy Trains part of the forum. Without seeing the number on the cab one of the easy ways to tell the difference is not available.
Is the boiler/cab fabricated from brass or is it one big casting? I think MTH might have been cast, the others fabricated. So would the old Max Gray brass import of course.

Oh yes I recognize its significance so the only alteration that may occur is uf I have to drill and tap holes for mounting screws .I will paint it light grey though.
As a suggestion: modify the MTH parts to fit the boiler, not the other way 'round. While there might not be achievable 'collector value' in that shell, it represents a kind of 'historic fabric' that should not be randomly lost.
I would go so far as to use epoxy and internal blocks to provide any mounting points or spacers in the shell, to allow removal if this is ever converted to something like 2-rail (which is truthfully a better prospective use of scale O components) or P:48.
I think I will try to adapt the boiler to fit an old MTH Hudson I have.
It definitely looks like an old 2 rail piece. Might be the same one as the Katsumi (Max Gray) for sale on www.brasstrains.com Website. Rebuilding will be a challenge for sure...
That's a scale engine, and I think legitimately here. I know there is this weird thing about that other f-word here, but very likely his answer is either here or in discussion with that community:
https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/topic/o-scale-locomotive-guide-hudsons
Then he can come back and show us what he does with it...
Since it's O-scale, you might want to post it over on the Classic Toy Trains forum, as well. You may get more pertinent information that way.

Just obtained this large Dreyfuss Hudson O scale boiler and frames.any info on the maker and era it was produced and where to obtain the necessary parts it needs.
