Pullman green appears to be correct.      below is the historical group that would be able to give you the answer for the exact cars you have in mind.

Before the LV Cornell red scheme I think which was applied in 1939, were LV cars painted pullman green? Or what colors were used up to the red scheme? I'm building a set of pre-war LV passneger cars and cannot find any color references for this period.
