Any need to.upgrade from my MRC Control Master 'll?

Thanks for the info!I am old school so conventional DC only.The control.master has momentum and brake so I guess  a new transformer is not necessary.

I purposely seek out old Troller power packs from the same vintage.

If it meets your needs and expectations, stick with it.

That was what I was thinking.Does that sound and power have speakers?

 

It came with one 4” speaker.  At one time I used a pair of good quality 8Ω speakers,one in each rear corner of my layout, sounded pretty good but DCC sound works better for me.

 If you have, or are planning to get, any sound equipped locos, the Tech 6 is the way to go if you aren't planning to go full DCC. No interest in sound, than what you have is fine. A newer model could get you some extra features like monentum and brake as mentioned.

I still use my old Sound & Power 7000 (about the same age) for DC operations and Prodigy Advance for DCC.


If its still working why replace it, with me if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

I bought my MRC Control Master ll in 1987.Still works just fine although the case is a bit worse for wear.I was looking at a MRC Tech 7 .Any need to upgrade.?I have a small layout and the Control Master handles any consist I put on it with ease.
