500x 5 packs will net you a nice discount. They don't have it listed any other way, but if you look at the 5 packs, it tells you the quantity discount.

rrinker Yup, if you buy it, it stays out, if you empty your cart, it goes back into inventory. That way, if you are shopping, and looking at multiple items, someone can't steal the item out of your cart before you have a chance to buy it. Sort of like a real store (unless you are buying toilet paper..). Way back when, that's how I discovered that their inventory system was indeed real time. I've never had a surprise - as in, check out, only then to be informed that one or more items was backordered. Never did ever get the backordered items from the one and only time I ordered from Walthers. --Randy

I wish Brasstrain Dot Com did that. People can steal from you cart on their website.

rrinker BigDaddy MTS has a boat load of left #4's and left hand 8's only. I'm not quite so confident that it is in stock. If MTS shows they have it - then they have it. Not even someone sneaking in and grabbing it before you add it to your cart. They have, and have had for a long time, an inventory system that makes Amazon look like a bunhc of amateurs. You can test it youself - add something to your cart, taking note of the inventory quantity. Now open another browser windown and go to their site, and look at the item you just added to your cart - the inventory level will be reduced by how many you added to your cart. And you haven't even bought it yet! --Randy

That's what I love about M.B. Klein: Real-time inventory. I didn't realize though that the inventory totals would also be affected by what a customer had in their cart prior to purchasing. Even better!

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
FYI and I know nothing except what's in the listing, but I saw that MBK/MTS is stocking Lionel code 83 flex - and this is HO, just to be sure.

BigDaddy floridaflyer Still not on backorder as of 7:30PM I wrote that too, but I don't see any code 83 turnouts listed as on backorder. MTS has a boat load of left #4's and left hand 8's only. I'm not quite so confident that it is in stock. https://www.mainlinehobby.com looks like they have some in stock

hardcoalcase Per Walthers, Atlas 83 flex is on backorder, no date available. Walthers turnouts backordered, expected October, curved turnouts in December. Anyone have any insight? Jim

Just because Walthers is out, and Atlas has shipped all they had on hand does not mean there is not track out there in the supply chain.
Walthers is not the big player they once were regarding other brands, they are more interested in selling their own brands.
I would bet Trainworld or ModelTrainStuff buys more Atlas flex track than Walthers, maybe by a long shot.
Who in their right mind would pay retail from Walthers any way?
Just check around.
Sheldon
I ordered my lifetime supply of Atlas code 83 back in February after having this exact concern.
That big expenditure was mostly track and Tortoise switch machines. I am glad I did it.
One less worry.

Track should almost be a loss leader. If you can't get track, why buy a Big Boy or a rivet counter SD40?

Good thing I saved all my code 83 Atlas turnouts from the last layout.

I would get to Trainworld as fast as I could. Still not on backorder as of 7:30PM
Atlas themselves are showing code 83 flex as back order. Get it while you can, might be a while before Atlas gets another shipment. Been down this road a few times with track and turnouts.
It may or not mean anything that it is not listed on their Production Shipping schedule
However Trainworld does not show it on backorder #25 and #100 in stock
What are you looking for specifically? There is Atlas track in my neck of the woods and still some turnouts around.
Where else did you look?
Modeltrainstuff has tons of 5 packs of the wood tie flex in stock. No curved turnouts though.
Probably related to Chinese factory shutdowns from the virus.
