Great Picture

My daughter sent this picture of the Alamogordo and Sacramento Railroad this morning, it must have been taken in the early 1900s.  It is the Bailey Canyon S Curve Trestle (long gone).

I grew up in El Paso TX and traveled to the New Mexico Sacramento Mountains quite often.  I later moved just west of Cloudcroft in Alamogordo NM.  My layout is based on the Cloudcroft/Sacramento Mountains.

The only trestle left, Mexican Canyon Trestle, was restored by the USDA in 2010.

I just thought I would pass along some pictures from my past that is part of my model railroading.  When I designed my layout it was a must to have a timber bridge and trestle.

My Layout

It’s not a logging locomotive but that is my trestle.

That is a great picture.

An S-Curved Trestle... there must have been a unique need for such a thing.

This is the largest trestle I ever built, in N Scale on the Scale Rails Of Southwest Florida portable layout.

Great looking bridges guys. Not only the prototypical photos but the models look awesome.
