TF, we have one in our backyard that is about 50 years old and it has grown the same way. In fact several spruces trees we have also tend to have heavier branches further up. As they grow older the lower branches thin out and die off. Could be lack of light but I don't know.

Still haven't gone to HD yet. Eating lunch, a ham sandwich.

I found a baby gecko in the new tub. I am pretty darned sure I have a bunch more gecko eggs I do not know about yet. I am sure there are worse critters to have living in the walls.

You say that now, but you'll probably change your tune when they all get together and try to sell you insurance.

Good Afternoon,

Another cold, windy day here. Only about 40F right now. I had planned on cleaning up the garage but may wait until it is a little warmer. Wednesday looks ok.

Nothing much new here. Yesterday I picked up a new bulb for the headlight on the car. It burned out after only 6 months so I bought a different brand and also a spare. They aren't too hard to change provided your hands aren't big otherwise a connector must be pulled out and I don't fancy trying that as it is in very snug.

My wife has ordered several masks for us to wear when we go outside. I expect this will be with us for a long time so we want to be prepared.

I'm back in the dog house, a.k.a. the basement. Seems I got too close to the person doing a curbside payment for some plants we bought.  That person had a mask and gloves on but it seems that was too close for my wife and not good enough.

Nothing new on the RR front. I can't seem to get motivated.

Speaking of elephants, I rode on one in Zimbabwe a few years ago. Strange sensation. We have seen many of them in Africa. They can be benign but you have to be very careful especially if they have young ones or if a bull is in musk. We have been charged once and it was a close call.  My wife has 'adopted' a baby one from an animal orphange in Kenya. We visited their facility near Nairobi and got to see several babies up close. The keepers sleep with them at night, as in right beside them, but they have to change every few nights otherwise the babies get too attached to one keeper and suffer emotionally if that keeper then leaves.

Well time to go to pick up a part at Home Depot so I can fix the pipe on an outside tap.

TF, yesterday I gathered up all the frogs that had moved into our pool as they were looking a little rough after I took the water out. I walked them over to the neighbours pond, much better digs for them.Cool I felt like a kid again chasing them down. I also caught a snake that had just layed a bunch of eggs, so I gather those up as well, not enough for an omellete though so I put them under a log along with momma near the frog pond, I don't think she had squirted them all out yet.

Like I have said before Brent.

You never cease to amaze me.

I could rattle on about stories of snakes and frogs forever but I think you did a good job already and I am content.

And you did put a great big smile on my faceYes

Brent  You are good people!

Kevin,

When I lived in Richards Bay, South Africa, those geckos were incredibley common. I loved those things. They were fun to watch at night too, it was quite the show they put on catching dinner around the lights where all the bugs would gather...

I'm beginning to realize that Windows 10 and sound decoders have a lot in common. There are so many things you have to change in order to get them to work the way you want.

Good Evening!

It´s been a sunny day. The nice weather made people to go outside and show their protest against the lockdown. Shades of the 1989 revolution in East Germany are in the air.

Enough of that.

Talking of sheep, here is a bit of extreme sheep art!

Enjoy!

Happy times!

Good morning, what's left of it

Another beautiful morning but it's cold

Since it's cold what more beautiful song could be posted if anybody has the ability to do so

It is Pink Floyd Sheep as so appropriate for the times we are living in now but must be taken with a grain of salt.

That Mexican food looked good, we have a place in Bellingham Washington we go to when we feel like Mexican food, it is very good.

Oh how interesting! What is this place called?

I had no idea what it was called and the wife didn't know either so I looked on Google Maps and I think it is called Mi Mexico. It is near Bellis fair mall. Use to go a lot but it has been some time since our last visit as getting over the border requires more time than it is worth in the last couple of years. We go into Vancouver now even though it is a lot further for us to go.

I'll put the hose in the pool tomorrow and start filling it up, it takes a few days to fill.

We get this dingbat always calling the wife about all sorts of things about her animals. Always is on about natural products and how there could not be anything wrong with anything natural, and how she is such an expert. She was having fertility problems on the farm so the wife told her to check her water supply for arsenic. Bingo! She had it tested and with a new expensive filration system the babies are roaming the farm once again. I had to remind her that arsenic is a product of nature and so according to her it should be fine.Whistling Next, it was her prize show dogs noses were all turning a light brown (not good for a show dog) the wife told her to stop feeding them with plastic dog bowls as the bowls are made of all sorts of chemicals. It took a while but she switched to stainless bowls and buckets and now her prize dogs and cows have the proper colour noses.

I just don't know.Tongue Tied

All the best to all.

Post Hog

I was saddened on my stoop as I stepped out to breathe some fresh air.

It's too early and the tree frogs are not frogging yet with the symphony of the crickets.

These beautiful sounds are earned and later in the year will come as we all appreciate them.

I'm just glad I'm not hurrying things.  The night sounds normal for this part of the year, it's really quiet just like here.

Quiet is good and with that I will hit the rack.

Ed, my father-in-law worked at Addressograph Multigraph.

That's neat. I remember the place well, right next to Lincoln Electric. I just came across a photo of New York Central trains crossing Babbitt Rd. with the A-M plant in the background and now I can't remember where I saw it Bang Head

Ebay, Flickr or in one of the books I have... well, if I come across it I'll let you know.

We had hoped to get to Cleveland this summer.  As I said, my wife hasn't been back since the early 1970s.

Friday and we had tacos tonight

You don't close the world for anything

I'm sorry the world should be open here

I would rather live my life with the fear of catching something than this and that's all I have to say about that

Ed, my wife grew up in Euclid about a block from the lake.

My first wife was a Euclidian. Graduated EHS in '76. I spent most of my growing up in South Euclid, but worked at GE in Euclid for 38 years. It was a working-class, bedroom suburb of Cleveland but there was a big industrial presence there. Lincoln Electric, Chase Brass, Euclid Earthmoving, Addressograph-Multigraph and lots of railroad activity, too.

Like so many neighborhoods it certainly isn't what it used to be. Once the big tax base of the industry dried up things went downhill.

My family had friends that worked at Cleveland Twist Drill and they always invited us to their company picnic at Euclid Beach. Great memories for sure.

Thanks for the Beer Beer Beer Beer

Cheers, Ed

You're doing well John just leave well enough alone.

Earlier tonight I got pissed off and fired off something.

It didn't do me any good and I cannot see it doing you any good if you follow the example of my shortcomings.

Keep your good standing good John as you stand very well.

Haste always ruins everything.

I think that entitles me to the title of "Post Hog", at least for a short time!

Now where do I claim my prize?

What we think we really know, comes from those news organizations.  As humans we are predisposed to confirmation bias.  You see what you want to see.

I agree with what you are saying.  That's why I appreciated your GAO reference.  I had other sources that are research-based, not news station based or personal observations.

I'm taking a deep breath and repeating, "It doesn't matter.  It doesn't matter."

Thanks.

Ed, my wife grew up in Euclid about a block from the lake.  She believes her neighborhood has changed a lot since she left for college.  She has not been back since.  Her parents moved while she was in college.

She talks often of Euclid Beach.

Edit -- top of the page.

It's happy hour.  I'm having beer, but I'll pay for whatever you want.

John we live in a world with two movies on one screen.  A few hundred years ago, none of us would know what was going on outside of our village, unless it was something really big, like the king chopping the head off his wife.

Now we have instant news, where a reporter will tell you what someone else is thinking, as if they are mind readers. It's not one side or the other that does this, it is both.  They slant their presentation and take things out of context and spin to support their view.

As a kid, we had 3 networks.  We thought the news was real and true, but it was just group think.  Now we have competition and their agenda is to get our attention and advertising dollars and ridicule there opposition.

Most of us do not sample all the news organizations, so we pick the one we like or we find more in harmony with our beliefs.  What we think we really know, comes from those news organizations.  As humans we are predisposed to confirmation bias.  You see what you want to see.

 Afternoon Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a Beer please, Rick a RBF and Dirk half a dog treat.

Pretty Much did nothing today. Sigh I need to get my but in gear but the cluch is slipping badly. Blood Surgar was at 98 when I got up which is good. Had a low carb breakest off scrambled eggs, sausage and onion and it was good! But after that I just felt sleppy.

Dirk has been to a park 23 day's in a row! He is just not going to understand why he does not get to go to the park when I start working again. He loves getting to go on car ride, think that is why he poops so fast in the park.

PRR I1sa. Chuffer is still working and for a small engine it pulls pretty good! It is pulling 17 cars so better than most.

PRR GG1, well it is a pulling Monster! While I like the tricks the new BLI decoders can do. I think the older QSI worked way better!

Time to sit out with Dirk, so later. Ken and Dirk sais Woof, Woof me hate UPS trucks Daddy! Woof!

I hate Rust

Don't worry about that.  I have posted from my phone and put together typing and pictures for over an hour and all of a sudden it disappears into Oblivion.

Take it with a grain of salt John,  You are good peopleYes and I have always been able to tell that

Well, now I'm upset.  I was working on a response to some criticism of a post I made on another thread, and now I can't post the response because the moderator closed it while I was typing.

Oh well.  I guess if it comes up again, I have the answer for those who didn't agree with my first post.
