Discussion of Covid-19 on these Forums
Posted by Steven Otte on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 8:48 AM

Hi, all,

This is, first and foremost, a model railroading forum. It exists for people to talk about their favorite hobby with other people who share their interests. In these stressful times, people need this escape now more than ever.

Therefore, discussion of the current Covid-19 pandemic (a.k.a. novel coronavirus) is off-topic for this Forum.

If you wish to discuss how this virus and the measures being taken to combat it are affecting you and your hobby (your train club is canceled, you can't get to the hobby store, you're quarantined and are running out of kits to work on, etc.), please do so only in the existing thread "So, how has this virus affected you" or the Forum's long-running designated off-topic thread, Jeffrey's Trackside Diner. Any other discussion threads about the virus or posts about the virus in other threads will be deleted.

We do not want this Forum to become a source of speculation and misinformation about the virus. Therefore, confine any discussion about it to the topic of how it affects you personally. We don't have the time, staff, or resources to fact-check assertions about the virus' spread, how deadly it is, what treatments might work, etc., so any posts like that will be summarily deleted.

Any coronavirus-related violations of existing Forum rules, such as attacking other Forum users, political discussion, racist theories about the virus, etc., will be dealt with more harshly than usual and will result in swift suspensions and bans.

Please keep this Forum a refuge for those who want to come talk about their hobby and forget about the worries of the real world, even if just for a little while. Thank you.
