Show Me Something - March 2020 Edition
Posted by SeeYou190 on Sunday, March 1, 2020 12:50 AM

Welcome to the March, 2020

"Show Me Something"

Dedicated to the originator, Jarrell

This is a place where forum members can post their photographs featuring a view of a "requested" scene or object.

If you show the item requested you can then make a new request of your own, or choose to stay with the current request.

After 24 hours, the same rules apply, or you can post a new photo of your choosing and make a new request. Your photos should be of models only, not a "real-life" scene. It's all about having fun! Let's see those photos!

All photographs should be original photographs taken my the person that posts them. If the model work is not your own, please have permission and give credit to the person or group that made the models.

The last request in February was this:

chatanuga
Show me more yards please.

This yard scene was built by the Florida Lego Users Group for their portable display they set up in train shows.

Show me a scene with more than one freight car.

Many freight cars on an under-construction layout from ancient times - W-A-A-Y back in the mid-1980's.

More "first" layouts or vintage memories.

This is the only picture I have of STRATTON AND GILLETTE layout number one.

I must have been very happy with the beige and brown paint scheme for SGRR heavyweight passenger cars because that color pattern continues as the standard to this day.

Show me any memory in a picture.

My Grandfather's Spirit of 76 Bicentennial Seaboard Coast Line Locomotive that sits on my mantle over my fireplace under my big screen so I can see it every day.  He gave it to me for my birthday when I was 12 in a set.

I've kept it all these years and it's still sits where I can see it.

More favorites please.

Here's a Model Power FA/FB pair converted into an FPA-4/FPB-4 pair, that was a big favourite of mine...

...wish I still had them, even though they're too modern for my layout.

Another favorite please.

How to pick a favorite? So many choices —

I do enjoy rostering several business cars on my layout:

Of these, the U.S. No. 1, Ferdinand Magellan is probably my favorite —

Glacier Express train passes the church at Stalden-Neubrück en route to Zermatt. The train sports one of the new panoramic coaches, which later became the standard on this train.

More passenger cars, please!

Please show us a project still in progress.

This is my combination caboose project that I was working on when I had to leave my Tampa Dorm Room workshop.

This is on semi-permanent hold now. Too bad, it was looking good.

Show me something else that is a work in progress.

Oh, I could fill a whole page of those!

Here's a f'rinstance. A PRR parlor-obs car that had a pair of typical brass trucks that were none-too detailed and rolled like the hand brakes were set.

 PRR_POC70Rbolster2 by Edmund, on Flickr

I made a new center sill and mounting bolster.

 PRR_POC70Rbolster by Edmund, on Flickr

Then I was able to use Walthers PRR trucks that are superior to the stock trucks.

Next, the paint shop.

Please show more works-in-the-works.
