Trainzman2435My question is this: Does anyone out there know if there are any manufacturers that offer the GP38-2 in the high short hood configuration such as Chessie, B&O, C&O,
First none of the Chessie roads owned GP38-2s.. Chessie favored the GP38 low hood.
Atlas makes the NS high hood GP38 and GP38-2.

You may want to check Shapeways (online) to see if anyone is making these.

My friend Randy models in NORFOLK SOUTHERN in N scale.
.
He converted a couple dozen of locomotives to high hood 20-25 years ago using etched brass conversion kits. Then, brass models with high hoods came available.
Now, he is able to buy plastic models with the correct height hoods.

Hello everyone, i have just been modelling in N scale for the past year or so, before that i modelled HO for 20 plus years. My question is this: Does anyone out there know if there are any manufacturers that offer the GP38-2 in the high short hood configuration such as Chessie, B&O, C&O, NS etc.? I have looked but have not had any luck as of yet. I know back in my HO modeling days there were several companie that offered the parts to "BASH" your own locomotive but as i stated, i have not been into modelling N scale long enough to know if anyone either offers the locomotive ready to run or if it would need to be kit bashed. Thanks for your time.
