If you are planning to use a dual shaft motor in the boiler that will only work on the newer Rivarossi with the gear towers.  The older Rivarossis don’t have the clearance for a boiler motor.

I dual motored several Cab Forwards and Y6Bs by making new frames to gain the clearance.  Other wise a single Faulhaber 2224RS has more than enough power to drive the gear train and is a great replacement motor.

I’m in the process of rewiring a pair of Cab Forwards with Faulhaber motors.

This is the dual motor Rivarossis.

Ahm/riverrossi challenger/bigboy remotor question
Posted by the nitro man on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 7:04 PM

NWSL had a "how to" on how to remotor these older riverrossi engines that had the motors in the cab. Well, that is no longer available on their website and they haven't replied to my emails. They showed how to put the motor in the boiler if I remember correctly. Does anyone happen to have a copy of this that they would share, or know where I can find it? Thank you
