rbturner It appears that you gentlemen have this handled but if it ends up that he needs more parts, I have a some of them that he can have.

Thank You, Randy. Will keep You in mind....hopefully...at My age, it's becoming a little cloudy up there...LOL
Take Care!

OK, I'll be watching.
Mike.
My You Tube
mbinsewi I'll have to look and see if I can find a number on the light brackets. Just about everything I have for Mr. Garth is from 4 axle and 6 axle locos. I don't have much from the switchers. The bulbs are still in most brackets, I'll test to see if they work. Thanks for the list! Mike.

Mike,
Athearn still sells the bulbs so not a big deal, really.
If I'm not mistaken, the steel wipers/motor clamp from the GP's, SD's can be cut down to fit on the SW's. The motor clip portion of the wiper, fits all the motors which were the same.
Whatever You have and can part with would be appreciated I'm sure.
I'll deal with You by E-mail.........
Might be easier this way:
I'm pretty sure, Athearn still sells the bulbs....they all are the same number.
Garfield1437Could you please PM me for list of parts
PM sent.
And I replied with a message from my email.
I will handle it for Him.........
Thank You for Your help and a shout out to You also Wayne for Your help.
I will send You a PM Mike.
I have a few of those light brackets, and top strips I will gladly part with. Some strips are from the GP's and some are from the SD's.
Frank, if you want, have him PM me.
doctorwayneI've copied and quoted his original post, as it seemed to me that he was only looking for a source of the needed parts, not someone here who could sell him what he needed. Perhaps the wording for the topic could have been a little better.
I suppose that it could be a matter of interpretation, but I agree. I personally thought that locking the original post was heavy-handed.
"Dear Friends Ladies and Gentlemen,
I would like to purchase parts for the above (headlight brackets and wipers).
I can list part numbers if required.
Many Thanks
Garf"

Perhaps the wording for the topic could have been a little better.I don't doubt that there are many here who have what he needs and would gladly give them to him. I erroneously thought him to be seeking detail parts, and was going to suggest several sources.
I have two of the motor strips which I would gladly donate, but as Frank notes, there are better ways to replace that archaic system. As for the light bracket, I removed those immediately whenever I bought an Athearn diesel, as I was never interested in working lights - in DC, I considered them toy-like, and never saved any of the brackets.

Thanks for Your concern. I have already sent Him a E-mail early this morning about redoing the thread. We have been mates for quite a few yrs. now. I know the parts He is looking for. Unfortunately, My Athearn parts stash, has finally been depleted. I did do a lot of searching around, but no one has them. What they are...is the metal front headlight bracket that mounts on the front of chassis and the steel top strap that clamps on to the motor and rubs on the metal arm on the trucks for power pick-up. I sent Him a PDF on how to eliminate those pieces and re-wire it for better performance, but He hasn't answered My e-mail Yet. Knowing Him, He may want to keep them original.
Garf, if your out there, please rephrase your post, and try again.
I figured you get a chance to do this, other than just being shut out.
Anyway, rephrase it, so it sounds like your searching for, or a source for, or maybe help finding, there are many ways you can redo this, that will be acceptable.
If you know the part numbers, make sure you put the ATH infront of the number, and do a Google (or whatever your favorite is) search, and you'll more than likely find lots of different sources, including Athearn.
