Seriously, having support from your wife is excellent. My wife supports my involvement in the hobby fully. She has clearly said that she is not interested in getting involved, but she has also indictated clearly that I can do what I want. I just bought a Rapido CP FP9A and two True Line CP freight cars and she thought that was fine.

The late Bob Reppert's Dawdle & Delay was actually a very nice layout to operate on. But yes the name came from an earlier era when not only did most modelers create a name for their layout (to justify running a dog's breakfast of all sorts of prototype locomotives and rolling stock) but there was a craze for funny or punny names. One of my favorites: playing off the real prototype Lackawanna, the "Lackawampum."

First off, I'm glad to hear the announcement regarding buy in from Kevin's better half.
I wouldn't worry too much about the S&G executive paint scheme, though. I have a BNSF SD-70 painted in livery designed by the boss's wife. I like it.

John, you are correct. In the past three years we have attended countless train shows together and visited dozens of hobby shops buying what is needed for the layout.
In all that time it has never been OUR layout until today.
I am excited!
