Yes I live in the Middletown area. For some reason the old floor drain clogged.I had about a foot of water in the basement.Unfortunately the city checked the sewer and it was fine.So I will get nothing for my damage.I had some decals you could not get anymore.I am trying to save a few of them.Especially my 87-504 sets it took me forever to find.Thank the lord it did not get my custom made CSX roadrailer sets. They cost alot to have made.Dan

Thanx, y'all!

I tried eBay's new 'I Want It Now" feature and, lo-and-behold, 6 hours later I got a reply from a HS in Washington State who had a set of 87-575's available!

Isn't internet technology grand...[^]

Ken, I don't have either one of those sets. Sorry

Dan, you must live in Ohio. All it's done here is rain for the last week.

Thanx for the tip, their website didn't make it too obvious that they sell direct - but I found out after poking around awhile.

Sorry to hear about your flood damage, hope the rest of your layout/rolling stock inventory is OK...[:(]

I'll go to the Microscale website after I get home from work and see if there are any other CSX decal sheets with yellow digits, and tell you the number(s) if I find any.

As promised, here are the Microscale part numbers of possible substitutes, if you have them:

87-915 - CSX-bc scheme for wide-cab GE dielsels

87-1180 - CSX-YN3 scheme (this yellow may be a tad dark, though)

thanx...

Actually, that is the place I went to that was sold-out (I didn't want to name any names). Yes they are an excellent shop, but when even their decal suppliers can't get what I want - then I know I've got a problem!

CSX decal dilemma
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, January 6, 2005 8:24 AM
I recently purchased some Atlas HO GP38s [in CSX paint] without numbers, figuring I could simply cruise down to my LHS and buy a set of standard yellow 'gothic' number decals. But these don't look right, so I tried to buy a full set of Microscale CSX diesel decals (#87-575) - they didn't have them in stock. Walthers doesn't have them either, hasn't had them in quite a while and may never get them again.[banghead]

If I could print them on blank decal film with my ink jet I would do so, but obviously that can't be done for light-colored decals going onto a dark background.

Have any of you succeeded in overcoming a similar dilemma? If so I'd like to hear about it...
