Model Railroader readers will notice a new name on the masthead of the January issue, which will reach newsstands December 10th. Hal Miller has taken on chief editor duties for two Kalmbach Media magazines (Classic Toy Trains and Garden Railways) and handed the editorship of Model Railroader over to me.
By way of introduction, I’ve spent the past 12 years as chief editor of MR’s sister magazine, Classic Toy Trains. Before that, I was senior editor right here at MR. I’ve had several bylines in the magazine over the years, the most recent of which were MR’s articles on musician Rod Stewart’s HO scale Grand Street & Three Rivers RR.
In those days my office was between the one occupied by Jim Hediger and the one occupied by Andy Sperandeo. They were incredible mentors and I was lucky to work with them and learn from them. I owe them both a debt of thanks.
As I said in my editorial in the January issue, it’s good to be back. It feels like coming home.
