Kevin- I LOVE the FG&W car, will send the photo to Bill the layout owner.

.

Thank you. I am also very happy with how this one turned out, especially for a rush job.

.

I changed the slogan from "The Deer Little Line" to just "The Deer Line".

.

That way I can use the slogan on a different roadname at "The Little Line".

.

Getting two slogans from one decal sheet can be very helpful.

this may not come across as complementary

Quite the contrary Bear, the results of your creative sense of humor being piqued are always a treat.

Thanks and regards,  Peter

Jimmy: Thank you for starting out the Weeknd Photo Fun thread this week. The work on the layout looks good. I love the EMD abomination.

Mike: Thank you for posting the update about your layout.

Ed: That clamshell bucket mouinted to the tractor is quite an unusual model. It looks good.

Rick: I am keeping an eye out for an helium car of my own. I love them. Yours looks good, just like all of your projects.

Mel: I cannot wait until some sort of a layout is up and running so I can work on some locomotive projects. Your passion is amazing. Thank you for sharing.

Mike: Those are some beautiful pictures of your layout.

Peter: As always, I love to see the photography of your layout and the wonderful scenes you have built.

Allan: I think archived photos are great fun on the weekend.

Bear: Thank you for the fun humor this weekend. They should have filled the tank!

Brent: Interesting project with the small lights.

.

Harrison
Hopefully the FG&W decals are next on your list.

.

This is the newest freight car addition to my fleet. A boxcar for the FAWN GROVE AND WHITEHALL. Harrison supplied me with the nice set of custom decals.

.

The freight car is a Tichy kit that received a modified sill and door tracks. Trucks and couplers are from Kadee. I used A-line sill steps on this car.

.

.

Please keep all the good stuff coming!

Thanks, Jimmy for starting this thread that always gives lots of inspiration to us less worthy modellers.Laugh

I finally got all the lighting in the roundhouse wrapped up, I must admit this RH project is getting a little long in the tooth and I'll be glad to get it done. It is not one of those projects you can just go back to as the spirit moves you as it needs to be permanently installed and finished, for the next stage of the surrounding area to be worked on.

The final two lights over the doors on the outside. I am not really happy with the workmanship on them and may change them at some point, but for now, they'll do.

Keep up the great work all.

Brent

And I hope that it remains as such Peter. While this may not come across as complementary, your scenes often provides fertile ground for the Bear to exercise his warped sense of humour. Thank you for your forebearance.

And on the subject of thanks, a BIG THANKS to you all for sharing your really Good Stuff.Thumbs UpThumbs Up

Thanks for starting us off,Jimmy. I'm guessing from that switch location at the left end, that you're planning to go through that cinder block wall? Gutsy move! My layout runs through a wall, but mine just involved cutting some drywall.Good luck!

Mike: Nice work, and glad to see you back in the saddle!

Ed: Neat looking clamshell! I wish I could find something like that in 1/48. Heck,I wish I could find any kind of vehicle in 1/48.

Week after week,Rick, you just keep pumping out great looking builds.

Mel: I really enjoy seeing your work on the engines...and your lighting...and your figures...thanks for posting!

Action around the yard:

Enjoy the weekend!

WTF, Still the best topic on the Forum.

Nice videos Jimmy, your layout is looking good.

Mike I really like your scenery, top notch in my book.

ED your vehicles make mine look pitiful.

Rick, when I was living in Alamogordo seeing the Helium Tank cars was an everyday thing as was the SP SD40s.  Holliman AFB Balloon Branch sent up huge balloons all the time.

Finally back to working on my locomotives made me feel human again.  I received the Mabuchi SF-266 motors last week and that got me going
Again, remotor time.

The top locomotive is a kitbashed SP AC-9 from a Rivarossi Cab Forward with a pair of Canon EN22 motors on the Mel brass frame.  I’m kicking around replacing them with the Mabuchi motors.

The middle locomotive is a Rivarossi Cab Forward also on a Mel brass frame with two newly installed Mabuchi motors, I removed the Canon EN22s.

The bottom is a stock Rivarossi frame with a Philips 9904 9000 RPM motor geared down to 5000 RPM.  Powerful little bugger.

I enjoy working at my work bench in our hobby room when my Arthritis lets me, it’s been pretty forgiving for the last month or so.

Keep the good stuff coming guys.

Good morning all from cold and snowy Northeast Ohio! Nothing sticking to the ground but it is still snowing.

Jimmy thanks for starting us out this week, all your work is coming along and looking good.

Mike, hope your recovery is going along and thanks for the update on your layout.

Ed, that clamshell bucket looks good, and its use is approriate in a junk yard.

Thanks to all who commented on my models last week and all who posted their wonderful pictures.

Got some cars done this week!

IMWX 1937 AAR Boxcar Kit, with Yarmouth Model sill steps in place of the plastic ones that came with the kit. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Boxcar Red Paint and lettered with Speedwitch Media Decals. Car was built in 1942 for general service.

Next I updated another old AHM Helium Tank Car with metal sill steps, removed cast on grabs and replaced with wire ones and added some where appropriate. Also replaced the cast on roofwalk with a Plano Replacement. Car was painted and built as they were rebuilt in the early sixties removing the wood roofwalk and other upgrades. Substituted the trucks with some I stole from a Roundhouse Ore Car as Athearn no longer has these in stock. They have extensions to hold the added brake shoes as these cars were very heavy and needed the double brake shoes on each wheel. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Silver Paint and lettered with Tichy decals.  These cars were the ex US Navy cars that were all transferred to the US Bureau of Mines after the plimp were retired. Most of them supplied helium to various NASA applications.

Latest acquisition, an Athearn SP GP40P-2 pinch hitting on a weekend freight with an SD45 following.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks for starting off the first weekend of November's WPF, Jimmy! Nice to see your progress there.

Welcome back, Mike. I missed out last weekend due to some family concerns.

Here's a photo of a recent acquisition for the layout. A neat looking clamshell tractor that I immediately put to work in the junk yard:

Jimmy,

Looks like things are coming along. Don't be reluctant to narrate some and tell us what we're seeing.

I've been away from WPF since I've just been overwhelmed with projects and catching up since my gall bladder was evicted. Still, getting lots of little projects done, not too photogenic but important from the standpoint of reliability. I did 2 turnout replacements, but also added one at Rockwood on the mill pond track top facilitate turning around trains to get them back to the woods.

Built a pair of Michigan-California log buggies from kits by Snow Creek Models.

Track conditions have improved enough that C-C diesel #28 has been cleared to operate on the Cascade Branch, adding more capacity.

Posted by Jimmy_Braum on Thursday, October 31, 2019 9:09 PM

Hey everyone. Its time for weekend photo fun. For new posters, this is where we show off what we are working on. Usually this tread is always inspiring. Here's what I have to offer. My layout so far.

Yes, that weird looking GP9 runs.

Hope to see a lot of great stuff
