Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
It's good that the person/employee is taking over NWSL. They know how it was done, how it is done and how they want it to be done. My thanks to you. Now we may see again more NWSL parts in the Hobby Shops to fill those empty hooks.
Yahhh Wooo! Now I can rethink about remotoring my United Santa Fe 2-8-0 and add DCC and maybe sound. I already added a United brass Frisco Decapod coal tender I bought use..

NWSL is a critical source for a certain type of modeling. The few parts I used from them were of first quality and greatly expanded what I could do in the hobby.
Ummm...I really hate to break this to yuhz, but the hobby is dying.

I've been hearing that sentiment since Uncle Irv passed. Didn't buy it then, don't buy it now ....

You first.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
This cool news makes putting up with August heat bearable.

Yep. I had big plans for certain locos before NWSL quit. I abandoned a couple of projects after they couldn’t fill all of my last order. Old brass is pretty finicky. It’s difficult to run a roster of the beasts without replacement gears and drivetrain parts.
Glad their back,
Guy

I am happy for everyone who is happy, but I have been into HO scale in a big way for 15 years now, and I have yet to feel a need to order anything from NWSL.

Well, I put an NWSL power truck in an O scale traction car 14 years ago and need a new one now. So, I will buy again. Don't need them often, but when I do...

NWSL probably only has 5%-10% of the modelers as a potential market. The items they produce fill a need for people that run brass locomotives, build custom traction or rail-car models, or do creative scratchbuilding.
That is why some people are so happy, because without them, some things we enjoy will become very difficult.
For the vast majority of the modelers, it is probably not much of an event to have them start up again.

So if it's the entire line, can we presume that includes the NWSL tools like the Chopper or Duplicutter (which to be honest at this point are the only NWSL items I have purchased), or did they sell or close down that line earlier (since MicroMark more or less covers that area)?
Good news.....
I have purchased a few items from NWSL and am glad to know their products will continue to be available.

Back in the 1970's I bought from NWSL in Seattle, Washington, I believe the original owner.
I remember buying the gear planning documents that are online now. I also got documents with full size plans for the Sagami motors. Complete colored catalog. Great help building a few gear boxes back then.
Some years later Dave bought NWSL and moved everything to the present location. Dave did work for me also.
Great to see the company continue on.At over seventy eight, cannot do this anymore. Many good years.
If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
A new member, Railroadfan1, first told us about the NWSL ownership change back in the diner, on page 4, he didn't get any responses.
I don't think I've ever ordered anything from NWSL. The Athearn wheels looked too complicated to figure out what you needed, so I just by them from Athearn, or a couple of Ebay sellers.
Good for NWSL.
