Rock Island model power engine-broken cab
Posted by CNW_4009 on Saturday, August 10, 2019 11:47 AM

I have a model power enigne like the one below.

However the top of the cab (little white piece) is gone.  Can I build a new roof?  If so the could I do it with cardboard?

Thanks.

Dunno if I would use cardboard, I don't think cardboard would be strong enough.  I am guessing that the cab in question is plastic?  In which case I would fix it using sheet styrene.  You can shape styrene with ordinary hand tools (Xacto knife and files).  For repairs to a styrene plastic cab glue the patch in using a plastic welder type cement.  Fixing cabs made of something else like a metal casting, I would still go with styrene repairs but I would use epoxy or superglue to bond the patch to the cab.

CNW,

I couldn't get to the actual site from my cell phone but the cab appears to have a roof.  It just closely matches the color of the box in the background.

Does it say it's gone in the sale description?

I have an engine "like" that. It's the one with the missing cab. Hope this helps.
