I guess that pegboard thing will only work if they run along the track with bare feet.

Don't you mean Bear feet?

But, how to model the peg boards?
Really short pieces of painted floral wire for the pegs, glued to the ties?
For the electro fence boards, strip wood with paint...

Only when they go out to dinner. They want to put their best paw forward.

Running Out Of Things To Put On The Layout...
That is only a problem for folks who have a layout, or layout that is pretty far along. Then there is the rest of us. Repost this in a few years and then maybe it will apply to me hopefully.

Never thought of putting HO bears on the layout and having them bear down to n the tracks.

I'm really glad to see that the railroads are addressing these issues, but they could do better.
Ja Bear does make a good point about sealing the grain hoppers better, but that can only go so far. Finding alternatives to deal with the situations when there is a spill is a good thing
Of course, it all boils down to dollars. We need to make it less attractive for the railways to spill grain in the first place, and more importantly to not collide with bears period. How about a fine of $500,000 every time a bear gets hit! That sounds reasonable doesn't it. What does a trophy hunter pay for his week long foray into the bush to kill a bear that has been attracted by a salt lick?

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
