This is correct. some of the older protocols such as Flas and java etc have been depreciated and are no longer supported.

It matters no which browsewr you use, they will all be dumping the older, less secure protocols in favor of the newer html-5.

Same problem with pm's, no problem with trains.com and Firefox.  Firefox has been troublesome for the last several months with a number of websites or upgrades.  If it wasn't for a couple of apps I use to download videos and youtube videos, I would give up on it.

Not sure I am hijacking the thread. I cannot post in the first forum.

General Discussions Trains.com The one that says, this is not the Model Railroader forum that the clueless post to.

There is a reply option but I cannot post anything. No reply from my keyboard.

Not sure this is Firefox. I have the latest version.

It's going to be in the 'security' permissions, which I noted changed fairly dramatically in the latest release.  (For more amusement, the new version 'blocks' rendering new Google searches (!) including any pages of references (!!) but searches conducted from the subject line of any open post work, and render, just fine.  That's going to be some mystery-meat sequence of accidental keypresses or clicks in the wrong place that tells the program to blacklist 'unintentionally', something the Mac people have made a science of since at least 10.3.1 with some of the 'handicap accommodation' key-combination switching.

My initial suspicion is that the Kalmbach code that renders the text window is being confused with one of the new things you can block in the tracker section.  When I find out exactly what some of those mystery things are, I might have a better answer.  But it's them, keeping you safe from Kalmbach whether you want to or not.  Maybe Kalmbach can work from their end to implement something the nannies won't flag!

I have the same problem with Firefox, I got a upgrade to 67.0.1 Saturday and it didn’t help the Forum Messaging but it fixed the eBay problems.  I guess eBay pulls more weight than the Forum.

Yeah, I mentioned that in a similar thread a couple of weeks ago, Rick:

http://cs.trains.com/mrr/f/88/t/276141.aspx

Seems to only affect the newest rendition of Firefox (67.0.0 and >).  The previous versions worked just fine.  As a temporary fix I've been using MS Edge when PMing anyone.

FireFox Problem
Posted by maxman on Monday, June 10, 2019 3:25 PM

I am able to start a topic with FireFox.  I am able to reply to a topic with FireFox.  I am able to fill in the private message topic line with FireFox.

However, I am not able to fill in the private message text block with FireFox.

This seems to be a new development.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks
