MR’s Dana Kawala helps a subscriber
Posted by gdelmoro on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 4:59 PM

A few weeks ago I had to change my email address because I moved from NJ to VA. Last week I finally had a few minutes to relax and think about my new layout.  Had a couple questions and needed the help of some of the experts here on the MR Forum.

Unfortunately, when I signed on and opened the layouts forum the “Create New Topic” button was gone!

I called customer service and they did not know what to do but the lady said someone would call me back and took my phone number. Long story short their tech people said “they are aware of the problem but had no solution.

For me the fourms are the best part of my MR and MRVP Subscriptions.

I remembered last time I had an IT Problem Dana Helped so i emailed him.  He spent several hours today trying to figure out what was wrong and after a few back and fort emails he FIXED it. Whatever the IT department gets paid they should give it to Dana.

Apparently changing my email was the cause. I don’t know how that caused the post button to go away and allowed everything else to work but once again, Thanks Dana.

Probably yoou were noot signed in. There is no post button if you are on the forums but not signed in. A change of email address would require a new login, even if in the upper right it might say you were signed in.

This can happen even without an email address change - the cookie used to indicate you are signed in expires after some time and you need to sign back in again. Unless you are active here constantly. I had to sign in on this computer (my home desktop) this past Friday evening because I was gone for 2 weeks on business and not using this computer to access the forums.

Still, Kudos for Dana for getting you going, even though it's probably not really his job. The staff at MR has always been a friendly bunch.
